Partnership-Links Listserv

The Partnerships Links listserv, formerly known as the Heart Links listserv, provides an opportunity for those working within the Healthy Communities Partnership Stream and the six priority areas of the Healthy Communities Framework to share information and ideas related to Healthy Communities.

Subscription to Partnership-Links is open to anyone involved in the Partnership Stream and interested in the six priority areas in the Healthy Communities framework: physical activity, sport and recreation; injury prevention; healthy eating; tobacco use/exposure; substance and alcohol misuse; and mental health.

Subscribers will also receive relevant information from the Healthy Communities Consortium and have the opportunity to post their own information, announcements, questions and ideas to fellow subscribers.

To join the listserv, please email partnership-l-request@hhrc.net with SUBSCRIBE in the Subject line.

Listserv Tips

  • Posting messages to the listserv: Once you have joined the listserv you’ll receive instructions on how to post messages to the listserv.
  • Minimize the number of postings: You are welcome to ask questions and share information, but please remember that many subscribers already receive a considerable volume of e-mail and that people have subscribed to this list because they have a particular interest in these specific issues. Please refrain from spamming the list with irrelevant messages.
  • Replying to postings: Clicking “reply” will send your message to the entire list. To reply directly to the individual that posted the message, simply insert the name of that person in the “to” box of your email.
  • Languages: Messages can be posted in French, English, or another language of their choice. Messages will not be translated by the list manager. As a consequence, those posted in a single language may not be understood by all subscribers.
  • Courtesy and respect: Please treat others on the list with courtesy and respect, refraining from personal attacks and hateful, defamatory or discriminatory statements. The list administrator always has the right to intervene in cases where such basic rules of participating in the list are not being respected, including removing someone from the list if such conduct continues. The Heart Health Resource Centre does NOT assume responsibility for vetting messages before they are posted; any liability for posting defamatory or otherwise objectionable material belongs solely to the person who posted the message.
  • Auto-responders: You can set an auto-resopnder (such as a vacation message).
  • To change your subscription preferences. By selecting this option you are placing your subscription to HEART-L on hold temporarily. Upon your return, simply "Enable Mail Delivery" and you will begin to receive postings from the list. Please visit the archives for this list in order to view the discussion that took place while you were away.
  • Heart-Links archives: Messages posted to the list are archived by the mailing list. This can be a useful reference tool – subscribers can search for past postings from others on a given topic that may yield helpful information, ideas or resources. Only subscribers can access the archive of messages. Subscribers will receive instructions on accessing the archive when they join the list.

Privacy statement: This is an open list. However, no one can use the "who" command to see who is on the list, and the Heart Health Resource Centre will not release the e-mail addresses of subscribers. While this offers some privacy to subscribers, obviously if you post a message (unless you conceal yourself from this list by editing your subscription preferences) your e-mail address will appear on the list. Also, remember that not much is truly private on the Internet.
